In Mexico at the moment there is a deficit of 8 million homes, people or families that are waiting to acquire a loan or to build a property.

Rent is still an option important for families, 16.4% of the population in the country lives in this scheme and 51.4 percent of them refer that they have not acquired their own property since they do not have access to credit, 22 percent because it is easier for them that way move, 9.7 because it is cheaper than a mortgage and 5.4 percent simply do not want to buy a property.
Edgar Vielma, general director of surveys of the INEGI said that in addition to this over the last year, 3.1 million families had difficulties to pay their mortgages, rent or advance in their construction processes derived from the COVID 19 pandemic.
The highest peak in this situation occurred in the frames in the months of April and May 2020, when 12.5 million Mexicans were unemployed and the rest of the population had a reduction of about 10% of their usual income.
