Czech folk band, Brati Ebenov, celebrates their 40th anniversary in the music scene with the release of their new album. The album, titled “Tichá domácnost, Malé písně do tmy, Já na tom dělám,” is receiving positive feedback from both fans and critics.
The band members, Marek, David, and Krytof, have been performing some of the new songs during their concerts, and the audience’s response has been overwhelmingly positive. This is a significant milestone for the band, as the new album is a pivotal point in their career, according to Marek Eben.
The recording process itself posed some challenges, as the band members had different perspectives on the songs and the overall structure of the album. However, they were relieved to find that there was a genuine interest in the new material. It is gratifying for them to see the songs resonate with the audience right from the start.
The album features thirteen new songs, with Marek Eben being the primary songwriter, except for the instrumental track “Clafoutis,” composed by David Eben. The songs were created during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is reflected in the title track, “Co my víme” (What We Know).
The album was mixed by British sound engineer Phill Brown, known for his work with legendary artists such as Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, and David Bowie. The album also includes guest appearances by violinist Pavel Fischer and the children’s choir Radost Praha, conducted by Jan Pirner. The album’s artwork was designed by Karel Haloun and Luke Kubek.
Fans of Brati Ebenov and lovers of Czech folk music can rejoice as the band continues to deliver exceptional music even after four decades in the industry. “Tichá domácnost, Malé písně do tmy, Já na tom dělám” is a testament to their talent and enduring presence in the music scene.
