Nearly 40 kilos of fireworks were seized in Strasbourg from a 20-year-old man, who was reselling them on Snapchat. Placed in police custody, he explained that he ordered the equipment abroad on a Czech website. He must be tried in immediate appearance this Thursday afternoon at the Strasbourg court.
Tuesday at the beginning of the afternoon, the police officers of the BAC of the departmental security of Strasbourg searched the home of a man in the district of Neudorf after obtaining information according to which the latter was selling fireworks on Snapchat .
On site, an arsenal of 47 fireworks bombs of category F4 and diameter 75mm and 100mm, reserved for professionals and requiring authorizations, was seized. Tubes of fireworks mortars capable of firing more than 200 shots were also found. In total, 37.77 kg of firecrackers and fireworks were intercepted. A little over 430 € in cash was also seized.

Throughout the month of December, the sale, transport and use of fireworks are prohibited by prefectural decrees in the two Alsatian departments. Fireworks for professional use are only permitted for persons who have obtained approval.
