In the morning, 40-50 cars suffered a puncture on the M1 in the Tata area on the side towards Hegyeshalom, after pieces of metal fell from a truck onto the track, writes the Hungarian Concession Infrastructure Developer (MKIF) in a Facebook post.
According to MKIF, the company’s employees went to the scene immediately to help with technical rescue and cleaning.
For the duration of the cleaning, the outer lane at km 76 was closed for 500 meters, traffic was moving in one lane at the time, and the traffic jam was 7 km long.
The MKIF drew attention to the fact that those who had a flat tire and/or damage to their car as a result of the incident can get a certificate of this from the police or MKIF employees present at the site. They are asked to apply at karrendezes@mkif.hu. The location, date and license plate number of the damaged vehicle are written in the letter. MKIF staff will contact them and provide detailed information on the administration process.
