Jakarta –
So far if you hear the word ‘superhuman’, you can imagine a collection mutant on film X Men. Apparently, there are humans in the real world who have extraordinary abilities compared to ordinary humans.
What benefits or gifts did God give them? Who are they? Check out the details below for a summary detikINET from PC Mag, Wednesday (23/9/2020).
1. Hyper photographic memory
Who can remember the memories of decades ago in great detail? Maybe it’s hard for us huh detikers, but not for Marilu Henner, who remembers every event with care. This ability is known as hyperthymia. Marilu is one of 25 people who suffer from hyperthyemia. Just state the date, he will give details as if it just happened.
“When someone gives me the date or year, or whatever, I look at a little bit of the film, scroll it and watch what it shows,” he said.
Some scientists claim that this phenomenon can occur due to obsessive-compulsive behavior which often causes sufferers to remember what happened repeatedly. There is also a physiological relationship in which the temporal lobe and caudate nucleus of the brain are enlarged in hyperthyemics.
2. No need to sleep long
The recommended rest time is eight hours of sleep per night, but not everyone should get the same amount. There are several people with luggage genetic who can get quality sleep in just under six hours.
These are the people who carry the hDEC2 gene, which affects your circadian rhythm or sleep clock. It is owned by at least 5% of the world’s population. Are you one of them?
3. Unbreakable bones
Researchers have identified a genetic mutation in the LRP5 gene that regulates bone mineral density, which can cause bones to become weak and brittle. So far, scientists have identified several mutations in the LRP5 gene that are associated with bone conditions, including primary adolescent osteoporosis and osteoporosis-pseudoglioma syndrome.
But different types of mutations in the same gene can also have the opposite effect of making some people’s bones very dense and unbreakable. Imagine if you fight with your fists, the power is like a robot.
4. Resistance to HIV
When the AIDS epidemic hit in the 1980s and early 1990s, a man never got sick even though his friends and family caught the disease.
Stephen Crohn was found to have a ‘delta 32 mutation’, which protects CD4 white blood cells from HIV. Because of this minor genetic change, Crohn was completely immune to HIV.
It is known that with every disease outbreak, some individuals in a population are invulnerable for one reason or another. This immunity can often help scientists describe the disease and design treatments.
