1. Pistachio Nuts
In Indonesia, this type of peanut may be rarely known. In fact, pistachios have a number of health benefits, including lowering cholesterol.
Pistachios are known to be high in unsaturated fats which can lower a person’s bad cholesterol levels. In addition, these nuts are also rich in antioxidants.
In a study at Pennsylvania State University, a group of people with high cholesterol added 1.5 to 3 ounces of pistachios to their diet.
As a result, there was a significant reduction in LDL levels in the high-cholesterol group. Researchers also found a reduction in inflammation and oxidation in the study.
