ATTACK – A pilgrimage group from Legok Pinang, Tangerang became the victim of a series of accidents that occurred on the Tangerang Merak Toll Road KM 68 in the direction of Merak, which is located not far from the Bogeg Rest Area, Serang on Saturday (16/10/2021).
It is known that a number of groups at that time were about to make a pilgrimage to Banten Lama. The incident involving four PO Komara buses occurred at around 08.30 and caused the death of one driver while dozens of passengers suffered minor injuries.
The head of the Main PJR Serang Police Korlantas Tangerang Merak Toll Road, AKP Wiratno said the incident occurred because the vehicle was unable to maintain a distance.
“The four of them are the PO Komara Bus, which is running as usual to Banten Lama for a pilgrimage, the first vehicle in the front slows down but the latter does not anticipate keeping their distance and eventually crashes into a row,” said AKP Wiratno to BantenNews.co.id, Saturday (16/10/). 2021).
The victim who died is known to be the third bus driver.
“Furthermore, the latest update with minor injuries was counted as 19 people,” said AKP Wiratno.
Currently all vehicles involved in the accident will be taken to the Serang Highway Police Main Office (PJR), in Ciujung, Kragilan.
“We are evacuating and currently we are unraveling the congestion,” said AKP Wiratno.
Meanwhile, all victims were taken to Sari Asih Hospital, Serang City for further treatment.
