4 new functions recently landed on WhatsApp

WhatsApp evolved, WhatsApp changes and a lot of new functions have landed on the platform in recent weeks. So much so that you may feel a little lost.

No problem, here are just the 4 functions freshly landed on the platform. Quite varied functions which should facilitate exchanges and discussions a little more.

This list is not fully exhaustive. It focuses only on the 4 biggest new features deployed by the platform.

Transferring chats between iOS and Android

It was undoubtedly the most awaited novelty. Since the beta version 2.21.160.16, users on iOS have in fact the possibility of transferring their discussions to Android.

Until now, it was indeed impossible to keep trades from one platform to another. WhatsApp has therefore worked on a tool to facilitate the migration between these two systems.

If you are using a supported version, just go to the “settings” section of the iOS application. Then by tapping on the menu dedicated to discussions, you will find an option to transfer the discussions to Android. Ultimately, the reverse will also be possible.

Ephemeral images

WhatsApp has always been very inspired by its competitors, and in particular Snapchat.

This is obviously not about to change and we still have the example of it with this very practical function. A function which consists quite simply in sending ephemeral images capable of disappearing on their own after having been consulted.

All you have to do is hit the attachment button and then select the photo to send. When it’s done, you’ll find another clock-shaped button. A button which will allow you to open a menu in which you will simply have to select the option “show once”.

When it’s done, just send the image. It will then be available for consultation only once. This also means that it will automatically disappear after being viewed.

Join calls

This function, we mentioned it recently in this article.

Basically, when you made a video call, no one could join it after it started. It was therefore necessary that all the guests were available at the same time.

Now this is no longer the case. WhatsApp allows users to join a call after it has started. All they have to do is open the solution, tap on the calls tab, and join the conversation.

Payment

This function is not yet available everywhere. It has indeed been launched only in India for the moment. The fact remains that it should eventually be extended to more markets.

The idea is relatively simple and it simply involves allowing users to transfer money securely through the app and simply entering the name of the recipient. The objective is of course to facilitate money transfers.
