Albuquerque is the largest city in the state of New Mexico. The motive behind the killings is not yet clear.
Albuquerque Police said in a statement on Saturday (6/8) local time that they were still investigating three cases of the killing of a Muslim man who are now suspected of being connected to another murder of a Muslim man that occurred last year.
Albuquerque Police said that its personnel found the latest victim on Friday (5/8) evening local time. Local television report, KOB4, said the victim’s body was found near the offices of Lutheran Family Services, which provides aid to refugees.
The police did not release the identity of the victim, but only named the victim a male, in his mid-20s, a Muslim and a ‘original South Asian citizen’.
“Investigators believe that the killing on Friday (5/8) local time may be related to the murders of three other Muslim men who were also from South Asia,” Albuquerque Police said in a statement.
