4 MotoGP racers who are sarcastic at the Mandalika Circuit, Number 1 MotoGP Champion 2021: Okezone Sports

YOUR preseason MotoGP 2022 from Mandalika Circuit taking place since Friday 11 February 2022. The racers also spurred their motorbikes to record the fastest time on the circuit which was recently inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

However, there were some drivers who complained about the condition of the Mandalika Circuit. Here are the four drivers who satirize the Mandalika Circuit:

4. Aleix Espargaro

Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing Team) assessed that the Mandalika Circuit was in poor condition on Friday, February 11, 2022. This was because there was a lot of mud and dust on the track due to the overnight rain that flushed the Mandalika Circuit.

“The track is not in a condition to ride, a lot of mud and dust and every rider, together with his team, has to decide when to go out to shoot or not,” said Aleix. Motosan.

“The conditions were not good and when they forced all the riders to do 20 laps, only one line was cleared, I didn’t like the decision, I thought it was a bad day,” he added.

3. Alex Rins

Alex Rins (Suzuki Ecstar) also complained about the condition of the Mandalika Circuit on the first day of the test. Although happy to try out the new circuit, Rins complained about the dirtiness of the track and the (small) rocks he found a lot. The rain all night made the first day of testing quite complicated for the racers.

“It’s really nice to ride the bike on a new track like this (Mandalika), the layout is very cute, and at the beginning the track looks dirty, there are rocks everywhere, and it’s very dangerous. Indeed, there is construction going on here, that’s natural,” Rins said to the media crew, which was also attended by the MNC Portal Indonesia team at the Mandalika Circuit.

“However, as the laps went on, things got better and we could have a good test here, there are two more days to go, but everything went well for us.”

2. Joan Mir

Next, there is the 2020 MotoGP champion Joan Mir (Suzuki Ecstar). He even crashed at the Mandalika Circuit, Saturday, February 12, 2022. According to him, there needs to be improvements in terms of safety because there is only one lane for the race.

“Definitely the high temperature played an important role in my crash. I tried to push the bike to the limit and I lost the front,” said Joan Mir.

“Obviously, going into MotoGP, they (the committee) definitely have to improve track conditions, not only from a safety point of view but also because the conditions are currently there is only one track to race,” he continued.

“As soon as you get out of it you have to release the brakes or you risk falling. Under these conditions it is impossible to overtake in the race, not ready to race,” said Mir.

1. Fabio Quartararo

The 2021 MotoGP champion, Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha), also complained about the condition of the Mandalika Circuit on the first day because of the dirty track. He even called the Mandalika Circuit like a motocross track at that time. However, he judged the conditions to be better by the afternoon.

“I think this circuit is like in Qatar, Thailand and Argentina. I experienced quite heavy braking. However, I think the corner at Mandalika is quite good, I am happy here,” said Quartararo, quoted from Yamaha’s official website.

“To be honest, I’m very happy because in the morning (Friday 11 February 2022) it’s really complicated. The conditions are like a motocross track. In the afternoon, I felt much better, our pace was very good. I recorded my fastest lap with 16 laps in the medium,” continued Quartararo.
