JawaPos.com – A few months after the launch of the iOS 16 operating system or OS from Apple, it was reported that there were still many bugs or problems in the system. At the time, problems with iOS 16 were understandable because the system was relatively new and bugs were only natural.
Only, a few months later, things seem to have gotten worse. Four months after its launch, users are still reporting that there are still lots of bugs in iOS 16.
Some of these issues include slow keyboard pop-ups, random restarts, User Interface (UI) glitches, camera crashes, and more. For iPhone 14 Pro Series users, the bug causes the screen to have a yellow line.
Apple released iOS 16 in September 2022 and since then has released several follow-up updates to address bugs and provide security patches. The latest update for the operating system is iOS 16.2 which was released on December 13, 2022.
iOS 16.2 brings a new Infinity Notes app that adds new features to the iPhone 14 Pro’s all-weather display, as well as new lock screen widgets, and more. According to user reports, reported by Gizchina, the presence of new features actually adds other bugs.
On Twitter, Reddit, the MacRumors forums, and Apple’s official support website, users are reporting experiencing a very high number of bugs and poor system performance after the recent iOS 16 update.
According to users, the issues range from spotlight search glitches, keyboard not showing up in apps, battery draining quickly, camera app crashing, focus mode issues, Apple Music app bugs, HomeKit accessories not working, and CarPlay glitches.
On Reddit, users are reporting that the app can freeze right after opening, or crash completely during use. “This started happening after updating to iOS 16.2,” complained a user regarding a bug in iOS 16.
Users claim that this crash occurs in any app. If the app doesn’t crash, it will freeze for a few seconds. Users complain that these crashes or freezes happen continuously.
Users are also reporting that the problem with the Home app persists after the iOS 16.2 update. A new feature of this update is an overhaul of the Home app architecture.
Apple announced a new architecture and promised faster and more reliable HomeKit performance. However, after the release of the new app, users are again reporting that there is a problem with attachments not working.
This then forced Apple to pull the update, but the problem persists in iOS 16.2. Reports from other users indicate that the problem is not limited to certain iPhone models.
The report reveals that users of the newest iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which are sold at a higher price, feel the same way. There is still an old problem where users will feel a lag when they want to close the running application. Apple itself is not doing anything to overcome this.
iOS 16.2 was released in December 2022 after testing with developers and public testers since October 2022. During the testing period in October, November, and December 2022, Apple released five updates that address bugs and issues reported by testers. However, there are still many complaints about this operating system.
Considering that some users experienced a lot of bugs in iOS 16.2, Apple may release iOS 16.2.1 to fix the problem. Before then releasing iOS 16.3 in the next few weeks.
