4 months later, this player made a discovery that made our blood run cold

FromSoftware is well known for having an eye for detail. Elden Ring is no exception to the rule and the discovery of this player illustrates it perfectly.

If you are used to FromSoftware titles, Dark Souls, Axe… You have most certainly noticed that the editor has a sense of detail particularly developed, especially with regard to the design and appearance of the bosses. Her last little baby, Elden Ringis no exception to the rule, so much so that players continue to make small discoveries 4 months after the game’s release.

The terrifying detail of the Death Rite Bird

Recently, we talked about the splendid discovery of a player on the Crimson Wolf. This time around, the find is for one of the most terrifying optional bosses in the game, le Death Rite Bird. The latter can be found in four different areas of the map and is a more powerful version of the enemy Deathbird.

Reddit user Double_Mashed_Potato noticed that the boss’s wings actually contain ghostly characters armed with spears, making the creature all the scarier than it already is.

After some research, especially on the ritual spear of death that we receive once the bird is defeated, we learn that these characters are in fact priests sworn to protect the bird.

What’s even more disturbing is that these same characters can also be seen emerging from a chest when killing the Birds of Death, implying that the Priests were deliberately killed by the creature to form its wings. Well, already without knowing this detail, the Death Rite Bird was scary. Now he is REALLY terrifying.
