The weekend is just around the corner and so we look back on it in the Crypto Insiders weekly update crypto news of this week. In this weekly recap we look at our eastern neighbours, the Bitcoin (BTC) Lightning Network and much more interesting news!

Global bitcoin developments

A report this week revealed that none other than Germany most crypto-friendly country in the world was in the first quarter of 2022. Previously that was Singapore, but our eastern neighbors are becoming more and more friendly towards Bitcoin. For example, next to the United States, the country runs the most BTC nodes!

And we’ll stick with Bitcoin for a while. The Lightning Network has grown rapidly in recent times. For example, the scaling solution, which makes microtransactions with BTC profitable, would be accessible to 80 million people. A big growth!

Following on from this, the news was read this week that the transaction costs on the Bitcoin network at its lowest point in two years standing time. In the video above, Wiebe explains the reason for this.

Finally, there was some good adoption news this week. In Australia, a physical bitcoin exchange fund approved. American banking giant Morgan Stanley also announced that BTC will soon be more often as a means of payment will be usable.
