Experts are now warning that symptoms can be different in people who are exposed to Covid-19 after vaccination.
No vaccine is 100 percent effective, but the Covid-19 vaccine helps protect people from severe illness and the risk of hospitalization. Reporting from The Sun page, Thursday (29/7), experts at the ZOE Symptom Tracker App have found there are four main symptoms experienced by people who have been vaccinated.
Sneeze
Data published by ZOE Symptom Tracker App developer experts states, sneezing is one of the main symptoms of Covid-19 reported British people who have been vaccinated. So far, sneezing is not a common symptom of infection with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19.
The ZOE team, led by Prof Tim Spector, said sneezing was most likely caused by the common cold or allergies. Meanwhile, for people who are vaccinated, this could be a symptom of Covid-19, not allergic rhinitis.
Experts say most people who are injected with the Covid-19 vaccine have mild symptoms. Interestingly, their data showed that people who had been vaccinated and then contracted Covid-19 were more likely to report sneezing as a symptom compared to those who had not been vaccinated.
“This suggests that unexplained sneezing after you’ve been vaccinated could be a sign of Covid 19.”
If you sneeze frequently, according to ZOE experts, you should take precautions to stop the virus from spreading.
“Sneezing is the main way the virus spreads. Try to cover all coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow to minimize the spread of saliva droplets. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth until you wash your hands.”
Headache, runny nose and sore throat
Experts from the ZOE Symptom Tracker App also highlighted headache, runny nose and sore throat as the main symptoms reported by people who had been vaccinated but later tested positive for Covid-19. This data comes from 2,278 adults who have been vaccinated and then infected with SARS-CoV-2 and recorded their symptoms on the ZOE Symptom Tracker application.
Experts analyzed the data and compared it with adults who were vaccinated and tested negative for Covid-19 and unvaccinated adults who tested positive for Covid-19.
Experts did not reveal whether these data refer to Britons who received the full dose or who received only one dose.
So far 46.6 million Britons have received the first dose of the vaccine, with 37.4 million getting the second vaccine. Regardless of whether or not they have been vaccinated, experts remind people to protect their health and those around them by implementing health protocols.
