Jakarta –
Taman Tebet Eco Park, South Jakarta, temporarily closed after being opened recently after the renovation. The closure was carried out because the Tebet Eco Park will be used as a low emission zone which will support the Blue Sky Program to control Jakarta’s air pollution.
The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, sees the need for a solution in the near future to overcome the problems at Tebet Eco Park because of the high interest of the community in visiting the park. Riza admits that this condition has an impact on illegal parking and street vendors who are mushrooming along the road. Due to this, the DKI Provincial Government has decided to temporarily close the park while providing supporting facilities.
“It also disturbs the surrounding environment and local residents. That’s why we are doing it temporarily closed to bring order, later we will prepare the existing places, we will maximize it later, we will prepare a place for culinary, for MSMEs there,” said Riza at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Jl Medan Merdeka Selatan, Thursday (16/6).
detikcom on Sunday (19/6/2022) summarized a number of things related to the closure of the Tebet Eco Park. Here is the latest information:
1. Main Reason for Tebet Eco Park Temporarily Closed
The head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub), Syafrin Liputo, revealed the main reason for the closure of the Tebet Eco Park. The closure is said to be done because of the large number of visitors.
“As we know that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government needs to close the closure, because the number of visitors visiting the Tebet Eco Park area is extraordinary,” Syafrin said when met at Tebet Eco Park, Saturday (18/6).
Syafrin explained that the Tebet Eco Park has a capacity of 10 thousand visitors at the same time. However, some time ago, the figure reached 60 thousand visitors.
“From the initial planning, as conveyed by Park and City Forest colleagues, the capacity of the Tebet Eco Park at the same time is at least 10 thousand (people). But yesterday it reached 60 thousand visitors,” explained Syafrin.
As a result of the spike, congestion is inevitable because many vehicles are parked on the shoulder of the road. For that, continued Syafrin, his party needs to conduct an evaluation related to this. This is done so that later visitors can benefit from the existence of this park.
“Of course, we, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, need to evaluate so that, when the Tebet Eco Park is opened again, the people who will visit will get the value of benefits from their visiting here. What they should have benefited from enjoying this park, because the collapse of visitors was not obtained,” he said.
