A video that shows white smoke ‘covered’ the streets Jatinegara, East Jakarta (East Java), viral on social media. Apparently, white smoke was coming from the container oxygen a leaky hospital.
In the circulating video, thick white smoke can be seen covering the main road. This condition reduces visibility on the road.

1. Premier Hospital Oxygen Cylinder
Police said the white smoke phenomenon came from a leaking oxygen tank. The oxygen tube belongs to Premier Jatinegara Hospital.
“Which is true that there has been a liquid oxygen leak at Premier Jatinegara Hospital which has resulted in evaporation around the hospital,” East Jakarta Metropolitan Police Chief Kombes Budi Sartono told reporters on Thursday (12/26/2022).
He said there was a loose hose connection. As a result, the liquid oxygen evaporates and forms a white mist around the site.
“After checking that the liquid oxygen hose connection was loose, it caused liquid oxygen to leak, forming a white mist and causing concern for residents and after being at the TKP it was found that the hose connection was loose , so liquid oxygen was coming out,” he explained.
2. No casualties
Budi said the oxygen line had been repaired. He also said there were no casualties as a result of the crash.
“After fixing the leaking valve, it can be refilled and it has stabilized or returned to normal so far. There have been no fatalities, the situation is under control,” he said.
