Apeksha Ekbote, Chief Dietitian of the NephroPlus dialysis network, outlines some basic and simple exercises for kidney patients to stay fit and maintain healthy kidneys to a healthy body.

“As a dedicated dietitian for kidney care and management across the country, I suggest that physical activity should be integrated into the clinical care of patients with kidney disease. It’s important to talk to a nephrologist about what exercises can be done safely as well as the duration of the activity. Start slowly and then gradually increase the duration and intensity. Please don’t overdo it. Stop immediately if you feel any signs of discomfort, excessive fatigue, shortness of breath, shortness of breath, etc,” said Ekbote, as quoted from Health Shots.

Many dialysis patients think they can’t do any basic exercise because their condition is not ‘normal’.

However, that’s not true, and even a small amount of regular exercise in a short amount of time like 15 to 20 minutes can help them feel better.
