SURABAYA, BANGSAONLINE.com – In 2015 WHO noted that there were 415 million people with diabetes worldwide. This figure is predicted to increase in 2040 to 642 million people.

Diabetes is a disorder of pancreatic function that causes the failure of insulin production, resulting in an increase in sugar levels in the body. Diabetes is divided into two, diabetes type 1 and 2. The two types of diabetes have different symptoms. But both have the same initial symptoms, namely:

1. Easily hungry and tired

The body converts the food it has consumed into glucose which cells use for energy. However, the body’s cells need insulin to utilize glucose. If the body does not produce enough insulin, glucose cannot be converted by cells into energy so that the body easily feels tired and hungry.

2. Dry and itchy mouth

The fluid contained in the body of people with diabetes is more used to be converted into urine. As a result, the body’s moisture is reduced, so the body becomes dehydrated and the mouth feels dry and itchy.
