According to the Pirque meteorological station, the rain that fell during this last frontal system reached 42 millimeters, being on Saturday when most of the rains fell in the commune, reaching 25 mm.
Although Pirque still has a deficit of 11% compared to the same month of the previous year, so far in July it has been the wettest month in the last 6 years, if the rains continue it could reach a historical record of the last 16 years.
According to information provided by locals, the accumulated snow in Baños Morales would be greater than one meter high, a situation that has not been seen for several years.
According to the Meteorological Directorate of Chile (Meteochile), the entry of a polar mass with temperatures below zero is expected for this Tuesday, July 12, where the thermometers in Pirque could reach -4 degrees or lower temperatures according to sectors. What, accompanied by the humidity left by the rains, will transform into ice, which could make driving difficult if the avenues freeze.
For the afternoon of Wednesday, July 13, according to meteochile, the arrival of a new frontal system is expected that will continue until Thursday night, where around 35 to 45 mm could fall.
