Another effort made by the government is to monitor the development of SARS-CoV2 variants abroad.

“The development of the SARS-CoV-2 variant abroad needs to be monitored and endeavored so that it does not enter Indonesian territory,” citing a statement on the Evaluation of Pandemic Handling published by the Ministry of Health, quoted on Monday (13/9/2021).

So far, the virus variants that are being monitored are Lambda (C.37), Mu (B.1.621 +B.1.621.1), and variant C.1.2.

Lambda variants have spread in 42 countries, Mu in 49 countries, and C.1.2 in 9 countries. The three have not been found in Indonesia and need to be anticipated so that they do not enter Indonesia.

For this reason, the next effort that needs to be done according to the Ministry of Health is to increase detection at the entrance.

The reason is, in 2021, only 72 percent of international travelers will undergo quarantine. entry- test, and exit-test.

There are still results entry and exit test positive, even though the entrant has brought a negative test result as a condition of travel.

The data also shows that 3.5 percent of Indonesian citizens (WNI) and 0.8 percent of foreign nationals (WNA) entering Indonesia showed positive results for COVID-19 even though they had brought a negative COVID-19 test result from their country of origin.
