On Sunday, 4 of the five Argentine teams participating in the group stage in the Libertadores Cup presented a letter to the game’s local association to ask the (Universe) to postpone the resumption of their participation in the tournament for a week.

The request was made by Boca Juniors, River Plate, Tigre and Davensa I. Justithia clubs after the South American Football Association (Conmipole) set mid-September as the date to resume the tournament.

The tournament was suspended on the fourth of March after playing only two rounds of the group stage due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus.

The clubs justified their request on the pretext that there is not yet an official date in Argentina to return to training, which will give the competing teams a kind of advantage.

The Argentine Racing Club, which participated in the tournament, did not join the demands of the four clubs either.

It is noteworthy that the “Amba” area in Buenos Aires, where the headquarters of the five Argentine teams are located, has been under quarantine for 115 days.

The stone will last until at least 17 of this month, in light of a mandatory and preventive social separation.
