4-Alarm Fire in Brooklyn Injures 5, Displaces Families: FDNY

NEW YORK – A devastating 4-alarm fire in Brooklyn left at least five people injured and several families displaced Friday morning, the Fire Department announced.

The fire occurred around 4:00 am when firefighters received the emergency call about the incident on the first floor of two multiple dwellings, made up of 33 units, and located at 135 kingsland Ave y Beadel st, in the Williamsburg neighborhood.

Some 138 firefighters responded to the scene with around 30 trucks and emergency service personnel. In total, about five people suffered minor injuries, including the owner of one of the homes who was treated for smoke inhalation.

In addition, several people were displaced.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
