4 Additional Mandatory Vaccines Facts, Including Cancer-Preventing HPV

VIVA – In 2022, the Ministry of Health will increase the number of immunization mandatory routine in Indonesia, from 11 to 14 vaccine. The addition of 3 immunizations is a vaccine Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV), Rotavirus vaccine, and Human Papilloma Virus vaccine (HPV).

The Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, said that immunization was the most appropriate and inexpensive way to prevent maternal and child mortality. When disease can be prevented, the body’s health will be more optimal.

“Vaccination is one of the health interventions that is cheaper and more effective than intervention when a person has been admitted to hospital,” he said at the World Immunization Week press conference, quoted from the Indonesian Ministry of Health’s Youtube channel.

Free immunizations

All immunization programs that are part of the mandatory routine immunization program will be free of charge, with certain conditions and requirements. Routine immunization is a government program which means that people do not have to spend money to get these vaccines, including the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine.
