In the first half of 2024, NRW.BANK Funding totalling EUR 4.2 billion According to the development bank, the volume of new commitments was just below the level of the same period last year (minus seven percent). The largest increase in the first half of 2024 was recorded by Housing supportwhich increased by more than a third to almost 1.3 billion euros.
Two programs were particularly popular: About the program NRW.BANK.Sustainable Living Almost 188 million euros were pledged, compared to 2.6 million euros in the same period last year. The reason for the boom is “that the program was given a very favorable interest rate during the interim halt in federal funding in order to bridge the gap that arose.” The program offers private individuals low-interest loans for the construction or purchase of owner-occupied housing.
About the program NRW.BANK.Home ownership A total of 135.5 million euros were distributed to individuals and families in the first half of the year. In the first half of 2023, this figure was only 9.4 million euros. NRW.BANK cites higher income limits, a lower interest rate and new term models in the funding program as reasons for the increased demand.
