Authorities in the state of Baden-Württemberg have confirmed that there was a 4.1 magnitude earthquake near Hechingen in the Zollernalb district on Saturday afternoon. The earthquakes were felt as far away as Switzerland.

The police headquarters in Reutlingen recorded calls from concerned citizens who wanted to inquire with the police. Hours after the earthquake, there were reports of cracks in some buildings.
The Swiss Seismological Center at ETH Zurich classified the tremors at 1:47 p.m. even higher – namely at a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale. And the geologists assume that the earthquake was felt throughout Switzerland.
