3rd League: Dream goal in the final score – BVB II defeats league leaders Dresden – Football – Sport

The guests’ self-confidence was evident right from the start. They immediately took control and pushed BVB deep into their own half. He, in turn, tried to set accents through transition moments, but was hardly successful for a long time. But Dortmund initially managed quite well to keep Dresden away from their own goal. Clear scoring chances were therefore in short supply.

Dresden with a lot of ball possession, but no goals

Dresden’s field superiority was also reflected in the numbers: 73 percent of ball possession spoke for itself. But the home team had their first real opportunity after 25 minutes: Claudio Kammerknecht cleared a cross from Patrick Göbel directly to the feet of Julian Hettwer. His shot hit the top of the crossbar.

This was a kind of wake-up call for the Dresden team; they increased the tempo again shortly before the break. First, Christoph Daferner failed with his attempt at the side netting, then BVB keeper Marcel Lotka saved his team from falling behind several times. So it went into the locker room goalless.

BVB II with a tailor-made start

In the second half, Dortmund got off to a perfect start. Less than 60 seconds had been played before the ball was already in the net. Tim Schreiber, who was rushing out, was able to parry Foti’s shot from 10 meters, but the SGD keeper was powerless when Jordi Paulina took a shot from close range. It was the Dutchman’s first goal in a BVB uniform.

Foti almost made it 2-0 three minutes later, but his shot went just wide. Instead, Dynamo became stronger again – Daferner in particular often made the BVB defense look old. After a few failed attempts, it was the 26-year-old striker who equalized: he scored with his head after 66 minutes.

Dynamo also had the chance to add another goal, but Lotka quickly parried Aljaz Casar’s header. It went back and forth, with the better end for BVB II. Foti (77th) circled the ball exactly into the corner from 23 meters and caused the entire stadium to explode.

The Dortmund reserves defeated league leader Dresden and thus jumped to tenth place in the table, at least for the time being. After the international break there will be a NRW duel at Viktoria Köln.
