3rd league: Co-favorite says goodbye to 17 (!) players

Big upheaval in one of the favorites of the upcoming third division season. 17 players were said goodbye.

It sounds strange, but it’s true nonetheless: Dynamo Dresden said goodbye to 17 (!) players after being relegated to the 3rd division. And yet: Dynamo is automatically one of the favorites again. Even if the search for a coach is still ongoing and the squad is far from fixed. Those responsible for sports director Ralph Becker want to go back to the 2nd Bundesliga.

Many players who wore the Dynamo jersey in League Two will not be able/allowed to assist in the “Instant Repromotion” mission.

Previous additions:

Stefan Kutschke (FC Ingolstadt)

Claudio Kammerknecht (SC Freiburg II)

Jan Shcherbakovski (Hallescher FC)

The Saxons said goodbye to a total of 17 players whose contracts were no longer valid due to not staying up. Including goalkeeper Kevin Broll and defender Chris Löwe. In addition to Broll and Löwe, 15 other actors were said goodbye. These include Brandon Borrello, Agyemang Diawusie, Kevin Ehlers, Marius Liesegang, Justin Löwe, Sebastian Mai, Anton Mitryushkin, Heinz Mörschel, Michael Sollbauer, Panagiotis Vlachodimos and Patrick Wiegers. Loan players Antonis Aidonis (VfB Stuttgart), Václav Drchal (Sparta Prague), Adrian Fein (FC Bayern Munich) and Guram Giorbelidze (Wolfsberger AC) were also said goodbye.

“These are all players to whom we are really very grateful. But unfortunately, due to the relegation, very difficult decisions have to be made due to the contractual situations. Partly by us as a club, partly by the players. It is already clear that they with their performance, their character traits and their appearance have significantly shaped the image of the SGD in recent years. On behalf of the entire sports community, we thank you for your dedication and great commitment,” says Ralf Becker.
