TSV 1860 Munich has prevailed. Despite requests from the 2nd division, Joseph Boyamba has opted for the lions. He is known in the Ruhr area for his time in Dortmund.
Again TSV 1860 Munich announced on Saturday morning, come with me Joseph Boyamba a 25-year-old right winger from league rivals SV Waldhof Mannheim. The former BVB II player is free of charge. Last season he scored eight goals and six assists in 35 third division games.
“We are pleased that Joseph Boyamba chose us because he also had offers from the 2nd division. That speaks for the radiance of 1860 and our ambitious concept. He is versatile on the offensive, brings great athletic and playful skills paired with high speed, which gives us even more opportunities on the offensive,” said sporting director Gunther Gorenzel to club media.
Joseph Boyamba was born in Troisdorf in the Rhineland and began his career with Sportfreunde Troisdorf. In his youth he also played for MSV Duisburg and FC Schalke 04. He was also active in the Regionalliga West for the second team of the Royal Blues, BVB and SG Wattenscheid 09. Two years ago he was drawn to the third division team SV Waldhof Mannheim. Overall, he has 126 games (37 goals, 21 assists) in the Regionalliga West and 68 games (17 goals, six assists) in the 3rd division.
Boyamba himself did not find the decision difficult, as he confirmed. “I am very happy to now be a part of TSV 1860 Munich. After the talks with those responsible and with the trainer, I immediately had a positive feeling and didn’t have to think twice before agreeing to the project. I will do everything to ensure that together we can achieve the goals we have set and can hardly wait to experience the unique atmosphere at the home games.”
