3rd edition of Business idea competition: project leaders present their ideas

• An initiative of Kosyam jesuit university of science • The best awarded projects ON Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Ouagadougou, Kosyam jesuit university of science (KoJUS) held the 3rd edition of “Business idea competition”. This is a competition to present project ideas from students enrolled in a Master of Business Administration (MBA), entrepreneurship and sustainable development option. In front of a jury of experts, they presented their project ideas that they intend to carry out at the end of the training. According to the president of KoJUS, Father François Kaboré, this training program aims to train entrepreneurs who will be job creators. Out of 15 students registered for this 3rd MBA class, 9 took part in the project presentation exercise. The projects cover several sectors of activity, notably agriculture, services, processing, industry and finance. The jury of experts before which they presented is chaired by the General Director of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Burkina Faso, Julien Kouassi. For him, the projects that have been presented are, for the most part, in their embryonic state. However, some are bankable. He has no doubt that the leaders of these projects will have the necessary basics during this training to better structure them. The students’ evaluation criteria are the realism of the project, its scope and its sustainability (environmental protection). At the end of the competition, the winners received cash prizes. Others will benefit from mentoring to mature their project. The first prize was won by Narcisse Koama (150,000 FCFA), followed by Bernard Kaboré (100,000 FCFA) and Armelle Naré (50,000 FCFA). The prize for the project with the best social impact went to Noely Coulibaly/Ilboudo. Added to this are 2 special prices. There is the special “SAD Architecture” prize awarded to Michel Damiba. The latter will benefit from support from the company to better develop their project. Also, there is the special gender prize awarded by “the ATELOG company” to Murielle Kiéto (100,000 FCFA). Note that KoJUS also provides this training program in Ivory Coast where it is in its 9th class. One of the applicants from this first class made his presence felt to share his experience with the students. This is the General Director of ATELOG, Constant Kikoun Touré.
