According to VideoCardz, the RTX 3050 scores about 24 percent higher than the RX 6500 XT in Time Spy. The AMD card achieves a score of 4970 in that benchmark. In the Fire Strike benchmark, the RTX 3050 scores only a few percent higher than the RX 6500 XT. The higher-ranking GeForce RTX 3060 is 30 percent and 42 to 47 percent faster, respectively, in Time Spy and Fire Strike, the website reports. The current GeForce GTX 1660 Ti also performs slightly better in 3DMark than the RTX 3050, although this card lacks functions such as DLSS and separate cores for ray tracing.
Nvidia will release the GeForce RTX 3050 on January 27. The video card has a GPU with 2560 CUDA cores and a boost clock of up to 1780MHz and a base clock of 1550MHz. Furthermore, the card has 8GB GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit memory bus. There will be no Founders Edition, and third-party custom graphics cards will start at a suggested retail price of $249. Whether the RTX 3050 cards will actually go on sale for that price remains to be seen.
