3DCenter: development of graphics card prices in Europe

Server 3DCenter mentions, for example, that high-performance graphics cards are either not available on the European market or may be available immediately, but with virtually no choice and at much higher prices, which do not correspond at all to the recommended amounts. This also applies to our market, where we can immediately buy, for example, MSI GeForce RTX 3070 GAMING X TRIO with a price close to that which we will pay for the whole computer also equipped with a card with RTX 3070 chip. TRIO can be cheaper in the offer of one store than the VENTUS 3X OC model. –

In 3DCenter, however, they noticed mainly large European hardware stores, while the Founders Edition versions directly from NVIDIA were excluded from the whole comparison, as it has not offered them here for a long time. It should also be taken into account that the recommended prices of cards do not apply to the models sold and that they would ideally be more expensive.

It could be said that the prices of cards basically roughly copy the growth of the value of Etherea and there is also an interesting difference between the prices of RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. This is more than double with regard to recommended prices, but the reality with inflated prices shows only a few set eur. Here we can see the effect of cryptocurrencies, as the difference in hashrate between RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 is only about a quarter (97 vs. 120 MH / s on tuned cards). Another example of the effect of cryptocurrencies are the real prices of Radeon cards, which did not rise so high in relation to the recommended prices.

Unfortunately, the prices of graphics cards also started to move again during May, rather upwards. We can see two reasons for this, namely the sharp increase in the value of Etherea and then the promise that the new versions of GeForce, which are due to hit the market in the coming weeks, will be equipped with a power limiter in Etherea mining.
