‘3cm per hour’ nightmare after work? Metropolitan area heavy snow warning

New snowfall Gwangmyeong 4.4cm, Siheung 4.1cm, Hwaseong 2.2cm, Gwacheon 2cm, etc.
Strong down until 6 pm… Lasts until 9 PM

-Traffic congestion is expected due to the strongest snowfall time in the metropolitan area on the afternoon of the 12th, coinciding with the time of work.

Heavy snow warnings were issued in some areas.

According to the Metropolitan Meteorological Office on that day, strong snow of about 3 cm per hour is falling in the Gyeonggi area due to the influence of a strong snow cloud zone locally.

The Meteorological Administration issued heavy snow warnings in Gimpo, Goyang, Gwangmyeong, and Siheung, where snow fell strongly. However, the duration of the snow is not long (1~2 hours), so the warning time will not last long. The current status of new snow cover at major branches is 4.4 cm in Gwangmyeong, 4.1 cm in Siheung, 2.2 cm in Hwaseong and 2 cm in Gwacheon as of 3:45 pm. New snowfall refers to the depth of snow piled up during the day. The snow cloud belt is strongly developed under the influence of the pressure valley passing through the north, and it is advancing northeast at 45 km/h.

On the afternoon of the 12th, snow is pouring near Gangnam Station in Seoul. Like a heavy snowfall a few days ago, traffic congestion and confusion are expected on the way home from work. -The strongest snowfall is until 6pm, after which the snow will weaken, but it is expected to fall until 9pm.

The expected snowfall is 1~5cm. The area where the heavy snow warning took effect is 2~7cm.

An official from the Meteorological Administration said, “The time when it snows is intertwined with the time of work, and traffic congestion is expected because the road is slippery due to the snow. When it snows strongly, the visibility will be shorter, so please ensure a safe distance when driving.”
