Pulikun (Alappuzha): A grand start to the 39th State Youth Basketball Championship. Pulikun St. Joseph’s H.S.S. Matches are played at an indoor stadium. The five-day tournament will be held on a league-cum-knockout basis, with 14 district teams competing in both boys and girls categories. Kottayam in boys and Ernakulam in girls are the defending champions. Today at 10 am Thomas K. Thomas MLA. The tournament will be officially inaugurated.
Idukki defeated Wayanad and Ernakulam 41-11 against Palakkad in the boys’ match held yesterday. In the girls’ category, Kottayam beat Palakkad 30-16 and Kollam beat Pathanamthitta 31-9.
