Rosbach (sky). The preparations for the road closure at the market already give an idea: On Friday, August 4th, it will be that time again: From 6 p.m. on the Ober-Rosbach market square around the historic tube fountain, the 39th old town festival will take place, organized by the carnival association »Die Hasenspringer«, the football club FC Ober-Rosbach and the rock’n’roll department of the gymnastics club TGO.
Good music directed by the »Hasenspringer«, gyros, steaks and sausages and a large selection of drinks are offered. In addition to wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages, the »LollyPops« cocktail bar should not be missing.
The Friends of the Old Town Hall, in front of whose doors the festival is taking place, will auction a mirrored art nouveau picture behind glass with an advertising motif of the Rosbach fountain. The starting bid is 100 euros. You can park at the cemetery or at the Adolf-Reichwein-Halle, from where you can walk through the old town to the market square in a few minutes.
“Now we’re just hoping for good weather and lots of guests,” said FCO event manager Dazu Mrkoci, who, together with Tobias Jung (“Hasenspringer”) and Walther Horz (“LollyPops”), is already vigorously beating the advertising drum. “After all, it’s the only festival we have left in Ober-Rosbach.”
