Morocco reported Sunday 393 new cases of coronavirus infection, bringing the balance to 14,215 confirmed cases, announced the Ministry of Health.
The death toll from the coronavirus is 235, while the death toll has risen to 9,725, said a ministry official in her daily press statement.
In addition, the total number of cases excluded after negative results of analyzes carried out in the laboratory amounts to 751,365, says the same source.
Of the 393 new cases, 98% are asymptomatic and 92% were diagnosed as part of the follow-up of contact cases.
The cases recorded today have been detected in the regions of Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (31 cases), Marrakech-Safi (215 cases), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (3 cases), Fès-Meknès (35 cases), Casablanca -Settat (65 cases), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (38 cases), the Oriental (3 cases) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (3 cases), he said, stressing that the active cases are at number 4.255 at the level national, of which 17 are in severe or critical condition.
The ministry invites the citizens to wear protective masks, to respect the rules of hygiene and sanitary safety as well as the preventive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities by showing responsibility and patriotism.
Morocco has taken a series of drastic measures to stop the spread of the virus. Thus, a state of health emergency has been declared since March 20 and extended until next July 10.
