Wuppertal. A family man from Solingen has been sentenced to six years and three months in prison for abusing his own children. The 39-year-old was arrested last summer on a campsite in Rösrath near Cologne. “He knew exactly what he was doing,” said the presiding judge Karsten Bremer on Friday.
The pedophile had made a comprehensive confession at the Wuppertal district court and incriminated six other suspects. The contract soldier was part of a larger pedophile network with connections to the two large child abuse complexes of Münster and Bergisch Gladbach. When the abuse began, his daughter was nine years old, the judge said. Fired on by his chat group, the acts would have increased. Although he was already under suspicion and his home had been searched, he had also started to sexually abuse his son.
The investigation against the wife and mother of the children continues. She should not have helped her children. Despite a “protection concept” by the youth welfare office, the children were left with their parents. “That’s when things really started, the boy was also involved,” said the judge. This is “brazen and unabashed”.
Further acts may still be unknown
At least 300,000 child pornographic files were found in the fully culpable man. Sniffer dogs specially trained to search for data carriers were used.
“Not only the tip of the iceberg is known here. Maybe there were more acts, but most of the iceberg could be lifted, ”said the judge. The defendant contributed to this.
The father spared his children a testimony in court through his confession. On the other hand, he gave tips to other perpetrators on the abuse of their children in chats. His daughter was seriously emaciated and traumatized because of the acts. The children “had to fear that their father would come and abuse them every evening,” said the judge. The prosecutor had requested nine years in prison. Immediately after the trial began in January, the public was excluded to protect the children.
A notice from US authorities had started the investigation in September 2019. The trail led to the address in Solingen. The 39-year-old’s apartment was searched for the first time in December 2019, and a second time in June 2020. The family’s car and trailer had been seized. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
