BURGUM – A 39-year-old cannabis grower from Burgum was arrested in Burgum on Saturday night. The man was on the road in the car around 2.30 am and was checked by the police at the Ds. J. Kooiplein in his hometown.

A strong smell of marijuana came towards the officers. They then decided to carry out a thorough check.

After the Burgumer tested positive for the use of THC via a saliva test, his car was searched. Potting soil and plant remains were found in the vehicle.

The inspection was then continued in a home on Skipfeart. More than 1 kilogram of dried cannabis and a grow tent with 32 cannabis plants were found there. The electricity used for cultivation was tapped outside the electricity meter.

The police have drawn up a report regarding the possession and production of soft drugs, drug trafficking and the theft of electricity. Blood was taken for the investigation into driving under the influence.
