39 percent of Hungarians save for their retirement years on a monthly basis

According to the company’s statement, awareness of pension savings has shown a somewhat decreasing trend in recent years, but this most likely does not indicate a lack of information and commitment, but the uncertainty of financial opportunities.

The announcement quoted Erika Schaub, Generali’s board member responsible for personal insurance, who pointed out:

according to those interviewed, it is worthwhile to start preparing as soon as possible for the sake of their future financial security, and this is already the opinion of the 18-29 age group.

According to the survey, Hungarians between the ages of 18 and 65 can put aside HUF 30,000 per month on average, although they themselves believe that they should save almost three times that amount in order to feel safe in their old age. The best situation is for people under the age of 40 who live in the capital, have a higher education, and are mostly able to set aside an amount exceeding HUF 50,000 per month for their future.

Generali is one of the largest global insurance and fund management companies. The company group operates in 50 countries, and its total fee income in 2021 was 75.8 billion euros. The Generali Group employs nearly 75,000 people worldwide and serves 67 million customers.
