39 more dengue bites in Lucknow

Despite continued efforts to screen for the disease, Lucknow recorded another 39 cases of dengue fever on Tuesday. Of these, Alambag reported the highest number of nine cases, followed by six in Aliganj, four each in Indiranagar and Sarogininagar, three each in Todiagang, NK Road and Silver Jubilee.

Dissatisfied with the lack of proactive action by civil authorities, many city residents said the Lucknow City Authority and the Ministry of Health were unable to verify the mosquito-borne disease in the new area. They added that civil authorities do not carry out fogging and anti-flare operations on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, a joint team from the Ministry of Health and the Department of Malaria conducted an investigation into the breeding conditions of mosquitoes in 1,167 homes. The campaign covers many affected areas, including Alambagh, Aliganj, Indira Nagar, Hazratganj, Sarojininagar, Tudiyaganj, Chowk and other areas.

During the trip, the team found dengue mosquito larvae in 28 homes. Then, an anti-larv spray is applied and a warning is issued to the homeowner.
