A waitress got a horrifying surprise when she found the body of a woman inside a hotel room in Manhattan (NYC) with a bloody clothes iron near her head, a possible weapon used to kill her.
According to police sources, the 38-year-old victim was found around 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the hotel. SoHo 54 on Watts Street between 6th Avenue and Varick Street. They found her lying on the floor, under a blanket inside a room on the 11th floor and there were no signs that the door had been forced.

The woman was officially pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner must determine the cause of death, but apparently she was hit in the head with the clothes iron, which would be a homicide.
The victim resided in Queens (NYC) and had no police record, according to Daily News. Her name has not yet been revealed and it has not been confirmed whether she or others were registered as guests in that room.
Other guests staying next to the room where the woman’s body was found told NBC News that they had heard hotel staff knocking on the door in the morning, but did not suspect anything violent had occurred.
