37,000 Emirati Citizens Join Private Sector Workforce Through “Nafes” Program

Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirati Competitiveness Council “Nafes”, revealed that 37,000 citizens have joined the private sector since the launch of the “Nafes” program in September 2021 to contribute to strengthening the Emirati workforce working in the private sector.

Al Mazrouei explained that the number of citizens working in the private sector reached 66,000, and indicated that 74% of citizens had never worked in the private sector, and were employed in more than 16,000 companies.

The Secretary-General of the UAE National Competitiveness Council, Nafes, added that today there are more than 50,000 citizens working in the private sector, benefiting from salary support.

And Al Mazrouei indicated that the total support for salaries that were paid during the month of April amounted to 275 million dirhams.

The Secretary-General of the Emirati Cadres Competitiveness Council said that the initiatives of the “Nafes” program include all sectors and areas of work in the private sector, with the program focusing on vital sectors, such as the financial services sector, the health care sector and retail, indicating that the Council periodically reviews programs and initiatives in light of any Developments, within the framework of the directives of the wise leadership to support the Emiratisation file in the private sector.
