37-Year-Old Woman Gives Birth to 10 Twins, Wasn’t Detected on Ultrasound

Gosiame Thamara Sithole never knew she would give birth to ten Twins. Previously, this 37-year-old woman only knew she would be the mother of eight twins.

Initially, doctors told Sithole was pregnant with six children. However, the doctor corrected his mistake after an ultrasound found eight babies in Sithole’s womb.

Quoted from Mirror, Sithole gave birth to ten twins at a hospital in the city of Pretoria, South Africa, on June 7, 2021. Of her ten children, seven were boys and three were girls.



This South African woman gave birth through Caesarean section at 29 weeks of gestation. Previously, Sithole already has two twins who are now six years old.


Regarding the pregnancy of ten twins, Sithole admitted that he was worried, Mother. She is worried that her children will not survive because her pregnancy is categorized as high risk.

Thankfully, ten Sithole twins were born safely. However, they are now being monitored and are in the hospital incubator.

Sithole’s husband, Teboho Tsoetsi, couldn’t hide his happiness at being blessed with ten twins at once. He described his emotional feelings after his wife gave birth.

Until now, the birth of these ten twins has not been confirmed by doctors or the Guinness World Records. If it is true that Sithole gave birth to ten twins, then she will beat the previous record held by a woman from Mali, West Africa, named Halima Cisse. In May, Cisse successfully gave birth to nine twins at once.
