In the same statement, Joyce Ouma of the Global Network of Youth Living with HIV explains the impact of HIV on young people.

“Youth continues to be stigmatized, especially those in key populations, and inequality continues to impair our quality of life,” he said.

In line with Joyce, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul said that youth are the future of the nation and the cornerstone of the global AIDS response.

“Eradicating all kinds of stigma must be our full global commitment with immediate action,” said Anutin.

Since the start of the pandemic 36 million people have died of AIDS. This means that doing something as soon as possible for the people most affected by HIV is now an urgent need.
