3,680 new infections and active cases drop to 48,835

The situation of the sixth wave in Galicia continues to improve, and today the infections are down compared to yesterday and compared to last Friday. The week from Monday to Friday already accumulates a decrease of 30.7%, and active cases decrease for the seventh consecutive day. On Thursday and Friday of last week they had increased, but yesterday and today they are down, which is a new positive sign that the sixth wave has definitely passed.

The hospital situation continues to stabilize and shows numbers very similar to those of last week, without an increase, or at least a noticeable increase. Today the numbers improve compared to yesterday, with 13 fewer hospitalized. Patients on the ward drop from 635 to 625 (-10), and ICU patients drop from 47 to 44 (-3), bringing the total down from 682 to 669 (-13). The 669 hospitalized today are 1 more than the 668 last Friday.

These are the most relevant data today:

  • The number of 3,680 new cases drops by 1,127 compared to last Thursday.
  • Active cases drop to 48,835, a decrease of 347 infected.
  • The number of hospitalized people drops from 682 to 669, 1 more than a week ago.
  • The incidence at 14 days drops 99 points to 2.268 and the incidence at 7 days drops 41 points to 950 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Today Friday 1,127 diagnoses are registered less than the 4,807 last Friday. The 3,680 new cases today include all kinds of tests, but it is not known how many have been by PCR, so the percentage of positives of the 6,702 carried out is not known.

On the Sergas data website today they say that 3,682 cases have been opened in the last 24 hours, but the difference between the total number of infected since the start of the pandemic today (466,784) and yesterday (463,104) is 3,680 people. In the same way, the new infections that we indicate by health area are calculated with the same procedure.

In the last 24 hours they have been registered in Galicia 3,680 new cases of SARS-CoV-2, 7 deaths and 4,020 discharges, which makes cases of coronavirus drop by 347 people, from 49.182 yesterday to 48,835 today.

The total number of hospitalized patients drops from 682 to 669, 13 less than yesterday. Last Friday there were 668 hospitalized, 1 less than today. The total number of coronavirus cases recorded by Sergas since the start of the pandemic is 466,784.
