How was this year 2022? We let the athletes, officials and spectators speak for themselves. A collection of quotes:

“If that doesn’t happen, the KSC will die. Every local council knows that.” Bockhorn Mayor Lorenz Angermaier at the SC Kirchasch meeting. Soon after, the city council agrees to build a new KSC sports center including funding.

“We would have been satisfied with fifth place.” Benjamin Settles, the modest football boss of DJK Ottenhofen, champion of class A 8.

“The rebirth operation started after the defeat against Hörgersdorf. While we were still in the dressing room, we swore that we would come back stronger.” Matthias Dasch, sporting director of the Altenerding, recalls the bitter moment of 2019 after the outstanding league season in football class A. After moving up in the district class, the SpVgg now has the best chance of moving up to the district league.

“Even my great model Alex Ferguson retired at 72.” Ottenhofen’s master coach Hans Bruckmeier (72) and his – ultimately failed – attempt to quit as coach.

“Big bullshit of me” The spectator who caused the game to be stopped in the relegation match of the district league between Hörgersdorf and Türkgücü Erding: In injury time the score was 5:4 for eleven Hörgersdorfer against nine Erdinger.
“It can’t be that easy for a stranger to get an appointment rescheduled.” FCH chief Korbinian Gruber, who is amazed to see that it’s easy. Eventually his team lost the replay and were relegated after another loss to TSV St. Wolfgang.

“My goal is to shake hands with both sides.” Wolfgang Haslberger from TSV St. Wolfgang is the first district referee to be promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga.

“I just wanted to pass as many as possible.” Hörlkofen native Mona Mayer to ARD journalist Claus Lufen after she advanced the German 400m relay team from seventh to fifth place in a time of 51.4 seconds at the European Games in Munich’s crowded Olympic Stadium.

“Eichenried versus Eichenried Est”. SVE president Stefan Huber before the district league derby against the victorious FC Moosinning 2. The SVE had won the first duel this year in front of 600 spectators. The year was good for both teams as they were jointly promoted to the district league.

“We did things like FC Bayern.” Neuching’s football boss Rudi Weber after the 2:3 defeat against Neufahrn.

“You can also wash off the sweat with cold water — if I’m quick, I’ll take it in a minute — and then wash your long hair at home.” Erding sports officer Janine Altheimer on the city council’s decision to no longer provide hot water in gymnasiums.
“All four come to Erding for their table tennis match. At best, together in the same car – in which they will all drive home in the future, sweating.” Klettham’s chairman, Joachim Just, on the same subject
“We’re already used to cold water.” Snappy reaction from a member of Erdinger TSV because the showers have never been hot since the opening of the Gerd Vogt Sports Park – due to technical defects.

“I do it without joy.” Adi Hundhammer, chairman of SV Wörth, reluctantly remains in office because a successor could not be found.

“My wrist has other plans” Maxi Dallinger on the stress of the World Cup final. In Cairo, Lengdorfer won bronze in mixed KK and finished fourth in the small-calibre individual.

“I just laughed and thought to myself: What did I just do wrong?” Kirchascher’s Florian Schrödl after his fourth goal in the district league game against FC Lengdorf. All four are ruled out for offside.

“The association obviously doesn’t like responsible athletes, even if it demands it from us.” Rowing athlete Marie-Sophie Zeidler is drawing the consequences after the disaster at her home European Championships – her quartet is the last – and is not competing at the World Cup and is not intimidated by the dispute with the national coach.

“A huge debacle”. Oliver Zeidler on the state of German rowing. He said it before the European Championships at home, where he led the final for a long time, but then only finished fourth. Two months later he defends his world title in a magnificent contest and silences all critics.

“The physical form of some players is worthy of a class C player. If from the 60th minute – and I’m still merciful – I keep running behind, I shouldn’t be surprised if we don’t score”. Rupert Lanzinger steps down as second chairman after FC Moosinning’s poor performance. An alarm? After that, the team starts a winning streak and went undefeated for eight weeks.

“There are also colleagues who take the cane to bed with them to build a personal bond. It wouldn’t necessarily occur to me now.” Thomas Elsenberger prefers to inaugurate his new stick with first place in the Bundesliga and wins the European Cup with EC Sassbach.

“Personally, I am extremely disappointed with the Erdinger referees, because this has nothing to do with fair play. This would not have existed in Erding before. Dorfen’s ice hockey coach Franz Steer on Erding’s refusal to move the derby due to staffing needs of the ESC “Some people are sick all the time – well, when do you start there. It’s just embarrassing.” Erding’s coach Felix Schütz.

“It doesn’t go from the city to the countryside.A former TSV footballer Erding on the planned merger – with Rot-Weiss Klettham

“My past was stolen from me.” Patrick Dogue, Olympian from Oberdorfen, on the show jumping end of the modern pentathlon.

“Corona wore me out.” Florian Riepl resigns as president of the Donau/Isar football district.

“Then you are some kind of European champion.” Boxer Uwel Hernandez before his fight for the IBO continental championship, which he also won against Jackie Mefire. He later took the WBA continental title. pir
