36,210 children start school on the weekend – Berlin.de

First the celebration and then the seriousness of life: around 36,210 NBC shooters will start school in Berlin on Saturday (August 14, 2021). That means school cones, candy and excited kids. On Monday, classes in one of Berlin’s 368 primary schools will start for the boys and girls.

This is again under the impression of Corona. Mask and compulsory tests also apply to primary school students. For the other school-age children, classes had started a week earlier after the summer vacation. The way to school is also part of everyday school life. In order to make this as safe as possible, the NBC riflemen receive yellow protective vests from the Senate Education Administration. Under the motto “Visibly mobile to school!” the children should be better protected from possible accidents, as Education Senator Sandra Scheeres (SPD) announced.

For the safety of the children, the Berlin police have also been monitoring traffic around schools and on school routes more intensively since the beginning of the school year. It was said that car drivers who are traveling too quickly along school routes, illegal stopping and parking behavior by so-called parent taxis and cyclists and scooter drivers on sidewalks are particularly dangerous for schoolchildren.
