The academy of Lille (North) is the most affected with 355 classes closed in schools. A record figure, followed by those of the academies of Versailles (321), Bordeaux (288) and Créteil (273).
October 22, at the time of the autumn school holidays, only 73 classes were closed in Lille, which was then behind Versailles (131), Créteil (129) and Bordeaux (75).
Closing a class as soon as a case appears
The Ministry of National Education counts, in all, the closure of 4,048 classes out of 527,200, against 1,246 on 22 October.
A total of 10,962 cases of Covid have been confirmed in students over the past seven days (out of a total of 12.2 million students), up from 3,620 on October 22. They are 776 among the staff of National Education (out of 1.2 million people), against 257 at the end of October.
The current health protocol calls for the closure of a class as soon as a first case of Covid-19 appears in schools. Concerning middle and high schools, non-vaccinated contact students at risk continue their distance learning for 7 days. Those justifying a complete vaccination can continue the face-to-face courses.
