Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) – On Tuesday morning in Darmstadt-Eberstadt, the heating and hot water failed in around a quarter of households. Around 5,000 people have been cut off from district heating after a pipe burst in a high-rise building, according to the responsible energy supplier. Due to the pressure drop and to protect the plant, a nearby thermal power station automatically shut down. By morning, the supply had been restored to most homes. According to information, the house affected by the pipe leak should be able to be supplied with district heating again in the afternoon.
