The 35-year-old man who died in a house fire in Eersel in Brabant on Monday started the fire himself. According to the police, this was revealed by technical research.

The four fellow residents of the squat on Voortseweg who were arrested on suspicion of arson have been released. They are no longer suspected in the investigation. No crime was committed in the death of the 35-year-old man.

One of the four co-residents of the house was taken to hospital with injuries. The person has now left the hospital.

On Monday around 4 p.m., a fire broke out in the building on Voortseweg. Because the fire brigade still had to extinguish the fire, the police could not immediately enter the house to investigate. On Tuesday morning, the police still conducted a technical investigation.
