35 new infections since Sunday

There have been a total of 31,652 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases so far, as the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) announced on Monday. 62 new infections were reported on Sunday, 69 on Saturday.

In the past week, the number of confirmed new infections had increased day by day. From 18 and 22 on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, it increased to 44 and 52 on Wednesday and Thursday, and to 58 on Friday.

To date, 1,682 people in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein have died who had tested positive for Covid-19. The Federal Office refers to the reports that the laboratories and doctors had sent up to Monday morning as part of the reporting obligation.

The number of tests carried out on Sars-CoV-2, the causative agent of Covid-19, has so far totaled 566,594. The result was positive in 6.7 percent of these tests.
